Questions

Projector installation questions

How bright does our projector need to be?

It depends on screen size and how much light is in the room. A dim classroom may be fine with 5,000 lumens on a 100-inch screen, while a bright sanctuary or ballroom with a large screen can need 10,000 to 20,000 lumens or more. We measure the room light during the survey before recommending a projector.

Laser or lamp projector?

For permanent installs we almost always recommend laser. Laser projectors keep their brightness much longer, need no lamp changes and turn on instantly, which lowers the cost of ownership and the need for ladder or lift access.

Should we use a projector or an LED wall?

Projection is often the better value for very large images, rooms you can darken, or tight budgets. LED walls win in bright rooms and where people walk in front of the screen. Our projector vs LED screen guide compares cost and image quality, and we install both.

Can you replace an old projector and keep our screen?

Often yes. We check the screen size, throw distance and mount, then match a new projector to the existing screen, or recommend a new screen if the old one is damaged or the wrong size.

Do you do projection mapping for events?

Yes. For events and special services we can project onto walls, stages and architectural features. Tell us the surface and the effect you want and we will plan the projectors and content playback.
